I’m so glad you found your way here. I’m Tara Sophia — Detroit‑born. Legacy‑rooted. A T1D mom, Citrus Herbalist, Holistic Health Educator, and Restorative‑Yin Yoga Instructor. 

My journey into natural care began in 2019, when I started crafting my own lip balms and body butters to protect my family from the harsh, chemical‑laden products that were stripping away my skin confidence. My first shop, Sophia’s Healing House, didn’t last — but it planted the seed that would eventually grow into Citrus N Berri. 

Seven years later, I returned to my roots. I leaned into the teachings of my maternal and paternal grandmothers, trusting the healing power of citrus, berries, and herbs. During that same season, my son was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes — a moment that reshaped our household and strengthened my commitment to the Rooted Intentional Living philosophy. 

Since then, I’ve dedicated myself to the craft, earning credentials in holistic health education, restorative‑yin yoga, life coaching, and herbal product formulation. Citrus N Berri is the culmination of that work — a natural care shop built on lineage, intention, and earth‑based wisdom. 

Every product here is handmade, cured, and packaged by me. But Citrus N Berri is more than an apothecary‑styled shop — it’s part of a larger ecosystem of healing. Inside our doors, you’ll also find The Mindful Root, the wellness studio I created to teach slow yoga, botanical breathwork, meditation, and grounded lifestyle practices that embody my Rooted Intentional Living philosophy.  

This space is a sanctuary for those who prefer intentional, natural living over the industrial mainstream. It’s more than a business — it’s the rebirth of a family legacy, designed to keep citrus, berry, and herb‑infused care alive for generations to come.
