So, you read my credentials up top, but here's my backstory of the road that brought me, my natural care shop and my podcast to you...

In 2019 I became certified as a life coach while working as a nurse tech with an impressive career in healthcare at the time of over 10 years. However, that's not where my heart has ever truly been when it comes to wanting to help folks. I've always wanted to do more than lead a life and career in western medicine (not to discredit the science of it all), I've just always been "the earthy girl" in approach to medicine and how life is lived. So, after working as a life coach for a about 6 months, I went back to school and became certified in holistic health and began to explore a whole new world that had never existed to me before. I grew up being exposed to natural medicine and holistic health through both my maternal and paternal grandmothers; southern women, who gardened and cooked everything from scratch, both blessed with the gift to heal everyone who came in contact with them. Unfortunately, I loss them both when I was just a little girl, but I never forget their wisdom and influence on knowledge which still lives strongly in me today. After becoming certified in holistic health in 2019, I began studying, researching to go deeper into the world of herbs and holistic living.

I fell in love with all that I was learning. I found myself, but I still had more work to do. I continued learning more, later launching Sophia's Healing House in 2021 (which is now what you have come to know) as Citrus N Berri Natural Care Shop Aka Citrus N Berri. Sophia's Healing House was short-lived, due to not knowing the market, promotion and understanding where and how I fit in as a wellness entrepreneur, to grow a wellness-based product business with no experience or funds to maintain longevity. I was heartbroken but I knew one day I would be back here; I just had more growing and living to do. I decided to dive deeper in my studies, wanting to connect spiritually to expand within myself; to truly understand my purpose and where God was taking me. 

I went back to school again and enrolled into yoga college in 2022 & 2023. I graduated as a 3-time certified 150-hour Yin Yoga instructor with a specialization in restorative yoga which go hand in hand together. Shortly after my graduation, I opened a yoga studio and began teaching classes online, in fitness centers and private sessions. I really enjoyed it, but business slowed down when the pandemic came. I kept it as long as I could, but I was forced to let that path fade on its own. I was heartbroken about that ending as well. 

Still, I didn't give up...... I allowed myself time to mourn and heal to recover from the losses of both businesses. Not too long after that, in the winter of 2023-my son was diagnosed as a type 1 diabetic which sent my world into another uproar and a downward spiral of emotions. I was hit hard with depression following that, something I had never experienced and don't wish on anyone who has suffered back-to-back losses in life and trying to recover. 

I took a year off from working, losing my license to work as a nurse tech. My world slowed down and I experienced the worst breakout on my skin ever. I found myself spending hundreds of dollars to fix my skin, so that I didn't look like all that I had gone through. Nothing I spent my money on, worked at all. I soon found out that I had hormonal acne, triggered by extreme stress that sent my body into a panic. I needed to do something and fast because the breakouts were constant on my face and upper back, and heartbroken I was again. 

That's when it occurred to me to go back to my natural roots, that both my grandmothers instilled in me and shut everything else down. I began shopping and grabbing items from local natural care makers and farmers markets in my area. Their stuff was good, but I was no stranger to making my own natural products. I had done it before in my own shop but because it didn't turn out the way I had planned it too, I was discouraged from trying again. 

3 years went by and slowly, I began to feel the love in my heart for wanting to make my own products again and talk about it. I dissolved the name and business of Sophia's Healing House and decided to start fresh with a brand-new name and approach, but the concept stayed the same. I design a new logo taking the approach of the farmer's market fresh idea into my own hands. I sat on the idea of this new shop for another year but eventually the urge became so strong that I couldn't ignore it. I had planned to introduce my new shop to the world at the end of 2025, but I still wasn't quite ready. I needed something, just a little something more. I went back to school because I wanted my come back to be different, stronger and I had it in me for one more diploma, lol. I thought why not, both of my granny's would be proud anyway. They were both big on education, especially the kind that led me back to who I truly am. 

So yes, I went back to school once more to get my diploma in holistic herbal product making, launching my online presence as "your favorite citrus herbalist", the founder of the new podcast on YouTube; (Citrified). I had always wanted to study herbalism and do something in regard to my upbringing, but I wanted to do it my way. I started first with the new podcast Citrified formerly known as (Health And Wealth Pod Talk) to elaborate on the hidden power of citrus fruits, berries and herbs; something that I had always known for years, beyond the product, beyond the shop. I wanted to first build respect, a community to gain trust and share all that had been buried in me all those years ago and what I grew up seeing. 

Then, carefully I revisited each product I had made from my old shop and revamped them all. I tested each one, waited awhile, tested some more and finally I was ready. I was ready to show up in the world again and return to where my heart is truly passionate at. I resigned from my position in the rehab unit and returned to working as an agency nurse tech to make room for a new life path, career and business. 

Now, here I am- Your Favorite Citrus Herbalist. I don't just make natural products, I make citrus, berry and herbal infused natural care products and host weekly connected conversations on my podcast that embrace how to live a life filled with intention, passion and purpose.
